aguidetoanaheim is pleased to announce the return of Disney's Electrical Parade! (Formerly Disney's Main Street Electrical Parade). On July 4th, 2001 Disney’s California Adventure Park, the all-new 55 acre theme park right next door to Disneyland and the all-new Downtown Disney entertainment complex, will "flip the switch" and bring everyone's favorite Disney parade out of retirement. It has been five long years since its last performance down Disneyland's Main Street USA back in 1996. When the lights finally went out, many hearts sank when thoughts of never seeing it again set in. But that is all ancient history now as Disney’s California Adventure park is set to begin the magic all over again with the first performance scheduled on the Fourth of July 2001. Fans will be delighted to know that the only parts of the parade that have changed are its brand new name, “Disney’s Electrical Parade” and its brand new home.
All of your favorite Disney characters and floats from the original parade will be back to dance and sing to the very familiar "Baroque Hoedown" theme music as they light up the night with over 500,000 brilliantly colored lights. And don't to worry about electricity, all of the lights used in this parade run on rechargeable batteries.
BUT BEWARE! Disney's California Adventure Park is much smaller than Disneyland and can only hold approximately 30,000 visitors. Roughly one third of Disneyland's capacity. So if you plan to "park hop" on your three or four day "Flex Passport" from Disneyland over to Disney's California Adventure just to see the parade, remember, you may not be able to get in if Disney's California Adventure is at capacity.
TIP If you want to guarantee a seat for Disney's Electrical Parade then spend the entire day at Disney's California Adventure. Once you "park hop" out of the park there are NO GUARANTEES you will be able to get back in!
